ON THE BACK BURNER

I am thinking that by now, everyone has a hurricane story, and if you don't , then there is time to make one up. I din't realize how much I would miss writing my Blog. My whole routine for the day starts around it. I write it while I am waiting for the coffee to do its coffee thing. No one is up yet. It is zen like. I didn't miss the land line, but not being able to do any reasearch or ask Siri a question, made for a long long day. I did learn how to answer my cell phone and text. That was enlightening. This skill might come in handy some day. My hurricane story is this. I made 36 cups of coffee and put it in pitchers.I gathered all of the towels that I didn't like. When I learned that we were now under a voluntary evacuation order, I got a little stressed. Then when my sliders shuddered a few times , I got a little more stressed. But except for the internet and the landline, we did just fine. I have great respect for American Indians and when the legend is that they chose this area because of a special spirituality, I decided that I would stay and take my chances. It wasn't because I have valuables, I just had a feeling that it wouldn't hit here. I am going to thank the Indians who chose this place because they believed that it was special and more to the point, I thank God for getting us past those winds and rain without any damage to body or property.
