ON THE BACK BURNER

II seem to remember that last year around this time, I felt as if I had had enough of this blistering hot weather. I do have the advantage of a community pool or the option of jumping into the Gulf, but I don't want to even leave the air conditioned house. I am watching both the clock and the dog to see who holds out the longest before I take Noodle for a walk. I just have a feeling that we are due for some terrible weather this year. I am concerned about this being hurricane season. I ,unfortunately, don't heed the suggestion that I prepare in advance. I did when we first moved here, but now, I have become less sensitive to the plan. I do have a dog kennel. I do know where the nearest shelter is that takes dogs. But I have also heard the tale of friends who evacuated to a friends home where they thought they were safe. They had more damage there then if they had stayed in Venice, where it only rained. I'm going with their experience and plan on staying home unless an official comes and says that I have to leave. With the weather so quirky all over the country,I have a fifty- fifty chance of being right about the weather.
