How do I come back to reality when my Grandson leaves. He has been cooking for us and has spoiled us terribly. Tonight's menu was the kind of dish that we took pictures of, sent them to his Mom,and used our fingers to get the last of the sauce off of
the plate. He has to leave because he can't top this meal. I wonder where these cook genes come from. I am a good cook, but he has he ability to just know what spices and herbs will add that certain something special to a dish. It's a gift, just like any other
and he has cultivated it. My Grandmother ,I am guessing, was a pretty good cook. I only remember her chicken soup which ,if you remember, I loved ..even when I found out it had always soured by the time I came to her house after Sunday school to have a bowl.
My Mother had a few dishes that she didn't kill. Over cooked eye of the round that had a great gravy, but the roast no taste. She did make good fried chicken. She let me peel and boil the potatoes. I never did much besides that until I got married. But I kept
a notebook of recipes long before I got married. I am a cook book cook. My Grandson can taste in his head before he even starts. And even presentation.Yep. Dinner was that good tonight.
