ON THE BACK BURNER

I almost feel like going swimming. I haven't been swimming since I did a mini triathlon years ago. Our development has several pools, so I have no excuse. There is something about getting wet, that puts me off. I do swim. In fact, I think that I am the only person who did the triathlon doing a side stroke. I didn't want to lose sight of the shore line of Lake Michigan. I had a really stiff neck afterwards, let me tell you. I much rather participate in a dry sport. I remember running in races where it was so warm that people along the route would hose the runners with the spray setting on their hoses. As long as they didn't get my running shoes wet, I was OK with that. Our new dog, Noodle doesn't mind getting wet. He even will go out in the rain. I'm not used to that. I was thinking of getting him a small plastic pool for these hot days. If he doesn't like it, I can always make a water garden out of it. That's wet enough for me.
