ON THE BACK BURNER

Fri I think that the dog days of summer is supposed to mean August, but it seems to be really hot and humid outside and I feel like I need to think about taking a weather break. I have an idea for next summer. Maybe I will rent a cabin in the woods in Colorado. The thought of a cool evening in the mountains is very appealing right now. I don't have a problem with hotness. But what I can do outdoors is limited. Noodle finds the asphalt too hot on his pads and his white hair and fair skin makes him also susceptible to sunburn((yes, dogs ,too) . I walk in the early morning and if I am lucky, I see a few people. My regular dog friends are snow birds, so they haven't even met Noodle. I hope that he gets along with all of the dogs. So far he has met a dog at the Vet's and he was very receptive to the sniffing process. He did have enough of the little pocket book Yorkie who lives down the street. She is like a whirling dervish, so I can understand how an old dog might get exasperated with her bouncing all over him. Speaking for Noodle, a cool night sleeping under a blanket, with the sweet smell of pine sounds pretty good right now. Maybe he will share the blanket .
