I have figured out how to sleep better at night. I don't watch the late news. It seems to be working. Reading the newspaper is bad enough and listening to NPR keeps me pretty current. The late local news is full of gun shots, fires, and local mayhem.
I can get by without knowing this. The hard core national news makes me upset, but I can tolerate it better earlier in the day. Back in Chicago, I listened to an all news station. I don't know of one around here. Maybe that is a good thing. Our car radio was
set to two stations. The AM was all news and the FM was Classical. We have noticed that almost every classical station in the states, has a similar voice. I wonder why that is. It is comforting to hear a voice that is familiar while driving on I 80 in Iowa
and hear that same kind of voice in Illinois. Our radio in this car that we are driving has a radio that scrolls the name of the piece being played. That is so cool, because we often hear some music that we would like to hear again ,but don't know the composer
or the name of the piece. I like the radio, I just decided. Even the country western music stations. After we are out of reach of a classical music station when we are on the road, we can still hear Loretta Lynn and Hank Williams . D-I-V-O-R-C-E and Walking
my Baby Back home, doesn't keep me up at night.
