I was listening to NPR and I heard some one give an opinion on exclamation marks. Interestingly, women use them more than men. Men don't like to show the emotion that an exclamation mark might suggest. So they go out of their way to say the same thing,
but not use exclamation marks !Instead of saying, as a woman might."Can't wait to see you !", a man will say, "I look forward to seeing you soon." The man doesn't have to commit or get too emotional, or too close. I almost love exclamation marks as much as
commas. When in doubt , grammatically, use a comma. Some times a man might write, according to what I heard, a sentence that shows his excitement ,by using periods. I.can't. Wait. To. See. You. Me neither.
