ON THE BACK BURNER

A couple of things I learned yesterday. One is that it it Mark Zuckerberg, not Zuckerman , like I thought. No wonder I haven't heard back about his having dinner with us. Sorry. Then, sadly, I learned that someone who I really admire because she is just the most classy woman that I have ever met, is in hospice. She has lived a very long life. She is revered by her family. There are so many younger members of our Congregation that don't even know her, but to me she will always be a reminder of aging gracefully. She and her late husband usually took the seats right in front of us at services. Funny, how we all gravitate to our special seats even though it is a sit where you want congregation. I like to sit where we do because I can see the Rabbi . They were slight people, so they probably choose those seats for the same reason. It seems as if it was just the other day that I picked her up to go to dinner at a mutual friends home. She was gracious about the ride. Even calling me the next day to re-thank me. It was my honor. I guess it is time for her to go. With grace and dignity. That is who she is.
