ON THE BACK BURNER

I am still pretty much a novice at being "political". I thought that I might want to remember how I felt when I heard that our present President was the winner of the electoral college . I was in Israel. I had voted early, which is a very popular thing to do in Florida. I didn't particularly like either candidate, but I was more scared of one then the other, and so that is how I voted. Do I support status quo? Not necessarily. Do I like what is familiar. Not necessarily. I liked one platform better then the other. One related to my ethics, my social responsibilities, my humanity. I was in agreement with the policies that supported the theory of global warming, women's choice, affordable health care for everyone, welcoming immigrants ,the arts.I was not a one issue voter. I chose one candidate over the other. When I woke up, in Israel, the day after the election and turned on my iPad. I was nauseous. I still am.
