ON THE BACK BURNER

I'm hearing a new catch phrase, at least for me. "Medical issues, health issues,I'm having issues, I have an issue with that". Is this good or bad. Can an issue be good. It sounds negative and serious. It could be that you just don't like what you hear, or that you won't commit. I have an issue with my stove. I hate it. It's electric, mid priced, functional. Does the word issue apply here. I wanted a stove that was obedient. That let me be in control. I didn't get that. I wanted a gas stove. Is that an issue. Yes , it is. My electric stove goes Hi, Lo, Off. Period. That is my issue. Can an issue be happy. The word is never used that way. I don't hear people saying,"I have an issue with happiness". I hear, "I have an issue with him". That does not sound friendly. Just come right out and say it. You don't like what you are hearing. You do not agree with what you are hearing. You just don't like that person.I don't like my stove. I want a new stove. No issue there.
