I met the neatest lady in Office Depot while I was waiting to have the Purim Shpiel I wrote for our visiting family to put on ,copied. She was having some flyers made for a book that she recently wrote. Her adult daughter was killed Christmas day in
an auto accident, leaving Grandma with a 3 year old granddaughter . The woman wrote a book for very young kids who are grieving. So far she has Hospice using the book and some psychologist who are doing therapy with these young kids. Statistically, I learned,
that very young boys who are grieving and not having support ,are likely to be incarcerated later in life. Girls turn toward abusive relationships. The book that this astute woman wrote is faith based and her church helped write music to make a CD for the book.
I heard the music and right away I thought about how our Cantor taught the kids of our Religious school to sign a prayer that every Jew learns early in life. The Sh'ma. I could visualize the song set to sign language. I told this lady that after she played
the song for me, on her iPhone ,while I stood at the counter, at Office Depot. She loved the idea. Now I need someone who knows signing to get together with her. I love talking to strangers. They turn out to be very nice people who do good things. Pass it
forward.
