ON THE BACK BURNER

I heard from the TV weather man that we haven't had significant rain since September 3. Well that would explain why Cricket was so confused when I tried several times to get her out. She felt that wetness on her and had a moment of panic. She wasn't the same for the rest of the day. She spent most of her waking hours staring at me. I interpreted this as "I want to go out" sign. But she balked when I opened the door. I guess she just wanted to be reassured that this was a one time phenomena and maybe wouldn't happen again for another long time. When I did get her out, she should have been happy because everyone of her dog friends was out at the same time. But she wasn't. She still seemed confused. The walk times were different and her paws were getting wet . She just couldn't go with the flow. I didn't realize that she was so rigid. They say that dog owners look like their dogs, I wonder if she has taken on some of our personality traits.
