I Know that I do not live in a nature preserve,although we are only a few blocks from one, which includes a place to put your kayak in.But, I am seeing some fantastic birds. I saw four pilated woodpeckers ,at one time. I've seen one at a time,pecking
away at a concrete post, but not four. And these woodpeckers were smarter than the last bunch. They were pecking at a tree trunk. Then , just yesterday, I saw two wild parrots. They were about 12 inches tall, yellow with some green. They were chattering to
each other. I was walking Cricket and I was hoping that someone would come along so that I could share this sight. Now today, the cardinals are getting active. The female was sitting in a low bush right next to our slider. A neighbor told me that she saw two
females fussing at each other , while a male seemed to be trying to break them up. They were probably fighting over him. Hope he is worth it. Then ,I was told where to look for an armadillo that has burrowed under a pile of leaves and branches.Maybe I do live
in a nature preserve.
