Thank you to so many friends who wished me a happy birthday. In spite of my funk about the state of the world, I did have a happy birthday. I decided to just do everything that I wanted to for one whole day. I went out for coffee and french bread at
the French bakery . I went to the grocery store. By myself. (I never get to push the basket because Bob does that. ) I picked up, "to go", Italian beef sandwiches, extra wet at Tony"s Chicago Beef. Except for the sun, I could have been on Irving Park Road
in Chicago, ordering the same Italian Beef. Then I used a new cook book to cook dinner. One dish was great and one I need to tell the author that I have a better recipe. This morning I got on the scale as a New Year's day tradition.. it's black coffee and
Melba toast for the next month. But it was worth it. Now I am back on my even keel and looking forward to every day of 2017. Let the good times roll.
