When we got off of the plane in Newark to continue our trip to Florida, I had a moment of confusion. There were Christmas decorations every where. IT took a brief few seconds to realize that I was in a completely different environment. Christmas and
not Chanukah decorations. Yes, in Israel they are getting as nuts about decorations and displaying gift items as we are here in the states. They even had Black Friday and stores are opened 24/ 6. It is crazy seeing a Black Friday Sale written in Hebrew. Amazon
won't deliver to Israel and as I left, Target was giving Israel some problem about delivering. My favorite grocery store in Jerusalem is like going to a cross between Costco and Big Lots with a little of Home Depot thrown it. They carry Kirkland labels which
is a Costco label. I don't know why. One big difference between our walking into a grocery/ shopping mall is security. There was not the military presence that I saw a year ago when I was there, but every public place , even the the small neighborhood food
store has security and check points. You just automatically put your cell phone on the belt and open your purse for a visual. It's nothing personal. It just is.
