ON THE BACK BURNER

As an update on security, our daughter just told us that we have gas masks in the drawer in our bedroom. Thought that you might like to know. I didn't. Today we took a taxi to lunch and then walked across the street to a scheduled discussion at the American &Canadians in Israel center. Lunch was in a huge mall. I had my purse searched which is standard for all public buildings. Inside the mall, I was supposed to go to a certain eating place, but I got confused and ended up at an Aroma cafe. That worked for us because Aroma makes a great cappachino .WE have found that the servings are so large, that we can split a sandwich and still be full. However, we did need two cups of coffee apiece with our chocolate croissant. While we were people watching, we saw a lot of young men who looked like Rabbi Dan. Those of you in Venice will understand. He would love to be where I am right now, I bet. The discussion at the AACI was very interesting. The Brothers Karamazov. Not that I am particularly interested in having my mind stimulated, but the facilitator was very good. I may even read the book again after reading it 50 or so years ago. Coming home , I had a little trouble getting the taxi I was supposed to order, but with a phone call to my daughter, where I whined about being frustrated, we worked it out and I found my way home. I have to admit that I was a little anxious about the taxi going to the right place.Home again, home again, jiggily jig. Wait, is that piggy Kosher?
