ON THE BACK BURNER

Before I open my eyes , every morning, I review what I have to do for that day. This morning, I became confused. I kept thinking it was the wrong day and I couldn't understand, in my stupor of just waking up, how did I forget to plan what to have for dinner this evening. I was vey relieved when I figured out that It was Sunday and I knew what we were going to have for dinner. In a few days ,Bob and I will celebrate our wedding anniversary. Give or take a few weeks. I have planned and prepared 211,995 dinners. That's if I cooked every night, which I didn't. Take away the 995 meals and that is probably right. And that was just dinner. You'd think that I would get tired of it, but I still do like to cook. Only I sometimes I run out of new ideas. Or I cook too much of a favorite and by the time we finish eating it ,it's not a favorite anymore. Or the worse, stash the left overs in the freezer and it becomes a mystery meal because I didn't label it. Not to worry, Bob has a reputation of eating anything and that helps on mystery night. It's true, the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. Does anyone say this any more?
