A candidate declared that he had very good Genes. Come to think about it, I have very good genes. My genes are peasant genes. My genes have survived progroms. My genes have traveled steerage .My genes are self made and remade. My Mother lived into her
90's. She could run for a street car in high heels. About the only thing that she didn't have, as far as I know , was diabetes. You name the disease and she probably had it. She could finish "Gone with the Wind" in a few readings. She also read comic books.
She was bilingual. She knew enough math to work in the Designer department at a popular New Orleans Department Store. She often won bonuses for her sales record. My father had a shorter life span. He died in his 70s but he was never sick, that we knew of,until
he died. He played semi pro baseball, so I was told. He smoked a pack of cigarettes a day and drank black coffee all day. He was mild mannered to my mothers volatility. I think these attributes qualify me for having good genes. And they paid income taxes.
