Happy Day. I get to pick up my violin today. I have missed it. It was in good hands being restored by a professional .In the meantime I had a loaner from my teacher .I'm a beginner on whatever instrument I am playing on, but I am worse on the loaner.
MY violin had a history. It was actually put together from other violins. A friend gave it to me. I'm not sure what parts are original or what parts came from other instruments, but it looks like a violin and it sounds like a violin. I haven't enjoyed practicing
with my loaner violin. It doesn't have a personality. My violin probably has a number of stories to tell and if I played better, it would tell them to me. I really don't mind not playing better. I work at it ,but I am not a natural. What I would like to do
is be able to look at a sheet of music the same way that I look at a recipe. I can read a recipe and taste the ingredients and how they blend together. That is a combination of experience and my cooking skills. I want the same thing when I play. I want to
hear the music in my head and play it. So far, I play notes.I'm going to work on putting the notes together to play music. I can do this.!
