Years ago, I met Carl Lewis, a gold medal Olympian at a running event. He was a guest motivational speaker and he ran a few kilometers with me and my running buddies. That was special. Running has brought some really nice people into my life. I went
to a running camp in Lake Tahoe , run by Jeff Galloway . He would have been an Olympian, except that was the time that the USA didn't let the athletes compete. That was also a special time for me.I met Katherine Switzer at a friends home. She was the first
woman to run the Boston Marathon and shattered that glass ceiling that restricted women from running the Boston marathon. That was pretty special, too. I have not met any politicians. Well I have, but they are mostly in jail now or had been. I lived across
the hall from a Cubs coach, Don Zimmer. He was always very pleasant .I'm trying to think of other "famous "people that I have met. Bob rode in the elevator ,when he was covering a story, with Eleanor Roosevelt and Adlai Stevenson. That was cool. I don't think
anyone spoke. I did sit in the audience at Second City in Chicago when Gilda Ratner , Mike Nicklas and Elaine May were improvising. I've never met a movie star. Maybe I can do that next.
