I was watching the Olympics last night when a young American competitor failed to qualify. In her interview,she said that the other woman in her heat came to win and if she wanted to qualify, she had to work harder.She was playing with the big girls
now and I think she just realized it. A good lesson to learn when you are 17 or 82. What some people make look so easy,isn't. That's the beauty of sports. Watch the runners. They finesse their game. Fast for the second leg of the 400 meters,stay on the inside
of the track, pace yourself for the first 200meters. It's not chance, it's a science. It's using mind games. It's their profession,it's their work.I think that is why I like to watch sporting events. It's not "let the best guy win", it's hard work. I admire
hard work. I want to play with the big girls some day. I just have to figure out what I want to be playing.
