Getting up early has more advantages than people realize. I some times lament that I get up so early. Nothing much is opened,it's too early to make a call to most people, and Cricket is still asleep. But I sit in my lanai and watch it turn from dark
to light to lighter. I can see across the golf course one or two lights from other early risers. Then when it gets day light, I feel as if I live in a nature preserve. It must be that we have fewer predictors this year ,because I am seeing a lot of bunnies.
And they do have white cotton tails. And we have a bevy of cardinals. I can now recognize their song .They hang around our house and unfortunately they also like to peck at their reflection in my neighbor's side view mirror . They don't seem to like mini vans.
And I am fascinated with the geckos . They come in different patterns and color choices. Some have docked tails. That must be a family trait or they lost them in battle. When the new babies hatch, they are the size of my little finger. With the rains that
we are having, I'm seeing shore birds on the golf course. Lately, dragon flies have been flitting around. I think I see the same two every day now. That probably means that we have mosquitoes hanging around. I grew up calling dragon flies, mosquito hogs. An
appropriate name . So this is the reason that I get up early. And did I mention that if I open the slider, I hear cows. That's something I didn't hear when I lived in a high rise.
