ON THE BACK BURNER

I have made an astute observation about life. And that is that you can not watch the Food Network and not get hungry. I know about eye-hand co ordination, but haven't given thought before to eye-stomach co ordination. I have been known to have my mouth water when I watch a food presentation of foods from my childhood. Where does my brain fit into all of this. It makes me a little nervous to think that my brain can be swayed to think I am hungry when I watch a food presentation. I really thought I was more sophisticated than that. Now that I think of it, it is said that you eat with your eyes. If it ended there ,that would be OK. But it doesn't stop there. The next thing you know, you are standing in front of the opened door of the refrigerator and sadly, nothing that you are looking at, looks anything like what you just saw on TV. And, the dishes that I so gracefully put into the sink, don't go away when The next food episode comes on. Why is that? Another problem that I have watching my favorite shows is when the cook throws something away. The garbage can must be right at their side. Right there at their right side. I need to reorganize my kitchen because my cans have always gone under the sink, because of eager eater dogs. I just had this disturbing thought. My dogs don't eat with their eyes. They don't even smell the food. They hear. They know when I open the fridge. Maybe I should develop my hearing . Then I could hear my brain say-you really aren't hungry, your eyes just think you are. I wonder if my stomach will listen.

So very, very funny !! Couldn't stop laughing. Have been there before. It is funny when you watch even a commercial with food you suddenly want food.
