ON THE BACK BURNER

When Bob started his free lance business, our across the hall neighbor was (and still is) a Rabbi. His wife and he suggested that we might want to have them bless Bob's new stationary. We thought that was a really nice idea, so they blessed Bob's first stationary. Bob was very successful in his business, and we never forgot the blessing of the stationary. It seems like such an insignificant thing and even hokey, but it's one of our fondest memories. The memory came back when I decided to see where this Rabbi was now. Thanks to the Internet, I found him and his wife, in Jerusalem , where they now live. The neat thing about this is, that he said that he had just been thinking of us. It seems that 40 plus years ago, when they brought their first child home from the hospital, I was passing their door and I heard the Dad(the Rabbi) coo-ing to his new child. I commented to him that that sound just made tears come to my eyes. He remembered that. So, I guess we are even. He remembered and we remembered. Cool.
