ON THE BACK BURNER

Ever had a word, that when you spelled it, it just didn't look right. Or, you keep misspelling the same word over and over. I wrote Easter and I knew it didn't look right. But the more I looked at it, it began to look OK. I wanted to write Esther. Close. A lot of the same letters, give or take a few. When I was in grade school we had these little spelling books and every Friday, we were tested on the 10 or so words. I think I knew then, that I had a spelling problem. The words were simple. They were every day words and I anguished over that upcoming test. I never lasted long in spelling bees, either. I was fine in math, did OK in the sciences, and I could and can still, conjugate any verb. But spelling. I find that I spell much better when 1. Bob is near enough for me to ask him how to spell a word, and 2. when I use a key board. Using the computer has made me a better speller. Now if I can lose a few comma's.,,,,.
