ON THE BACK BURNER

We seem to have an influx of birds. It is appropriate since I live in Bird bay. There is a cardinal that sings almost every time I come out with Cricket . It is a beautiful red, so with the trees just starting to leaf, it is very visible. For some reason, this cardy ,as we call them in our family, loves my neighbor's car. It pecks at it and perches on the side view mirror. And we seem to have more black birds then I have ever seen. Maybe they are crows. Maybe they are one and the same. But they are smart. They talk a lot. They talk to each other. They are also very civilized. When one speaks, the other listens and then responds. They are also extremely noisy. I haven't figured out why we have so many birds this year. We have at least one red headed woodpecker that insists on pecking at a plate glass picture window. I feel for the people who live in that condo. You can hear that bird just going to town on that window. Dummy. I also spot at least one blue jay .There may be more, but they all look the same, so I can't tell. They flit back and forth in front of our glass sliders that face the golf course. Along with the two bunnies and many squirrels that live here, and the cows that we hear from the near by farms, and the horses that we see as we drive around, we could think that we live in the country. We don't.
