ON THE BACK BURNER

I was walking Cricket for her evening walk (or drag, as we call it) and I was just letting my mind wander. I was reminded of the time that had a nightmare and Bob "saved" me. I was taking a pattern making course and I had a dressmakers dummy in the bedroom. I had this nightmare that must have included the dummy because Bob threw his arm over me and shouted out, completely asleep," I'll save you". When we both woke up we got a good laugh out of it ,the dress dummy,my nightmare and Bob's bravery. Then my walking Cricket mind skipped to a story about my parents, that I heard for years . It seems that my Mother very badly, cut her hand. She was bleed profusely and crying,"I'm going, I'm going". My attentive Father, called back, "Ethel, wait for me". My Mother was saying that she was going to faint. I still laugh when I think of that scenario. Funny what a wandering dog walking mind can bring up.
