ON THE BACK BURNER

i was having my hair done, and a woman in the next chair was going on and on about a friend who was having memory issues. she was actually angry about the friend forgetting that she had already told her of certain events. I wanted to slap her. Was she angry because her friendship will never be what it was. Was she blaming her friend because how come she couldn't remember that she told her the information already. With all the information available for memory loss how did this woman stay so uninformed. Short term memory is lost, first. Then comes other losses. How about standing in front of your stove and not knowing how to turn on the oven. Or saying that you can't get the toaster to toast, when you put the bread in the micro wave. There are so many losses . Some you don't want to hear about. Some you don't want to share. Some are funny, if you still have a sense of humor. I could almost feel sorry for the woman in the next chair. If she still wants to be a friend, it will be different. She'll have to accept her friend where she is. Repeating the same information. I hope she has patience. It is a quick judgement call on my part, but I don't think she can handle it. Only special friends can, like the ones I have.
