ON THE BACK BURNER

I made sautéed chicken livers for dinner tonight. I know, I know. They are on the endangered list. They endanger whoever eats it. So far the chicken liver lobby hasn't come out with an endorsement. But, every now and then, how bad can they be for you ? I made it better by fixing butternut squash and cauliflower with it. I just happened to have these veggies in the fridge. That made me feel more righteous. And I could get rid of these veggies that I've had in the house longer then I should have. I buy with good intentions and then stuff happens and I don't use the ingredients. Or I change my dinner plans and need a different combination of ingredients. When I cooked two meals a day for six, I made a months menu. I used two shopping carts and I bought from a co-op for a while. I had two fridges, an extra freezer and a double oven . Those were the good old days. I loved cooking for 6. Some how, cooking for two isn't as satisfying. I have a lot of left overs.

Don't quite know how this got to me but it was on the top line of my computer (not in email) But I really enjoyed it. I truly admire you.
