ON THE BACK BURNER

I am rethinking where I want to sit the next time that I fly. My Grandson advised me to sit by a window because then I could lean against it and with a pillow, be more comfortable. What we both overlooked is that my body height doesn't quite let me do that. There was a decided gap between my head, the pillow and the airplane wall. To add to this, my travel seat mate, took a sleeping pill and I couldn't figure out a way to climb over him. He was a very sound sleeper. No one usually talks to me on a flight. I haven't figured this out. Maybe I look threatening. I wish. But this time, my seat mate, until his pill took effect, was a real talker. It was fun. He did most of the talking, but that was fine with me. I always say a little prayer when I fly that no babies are on board. My. prayers were not answered and in fact, the multiple babies on board cried for hours. You just can't console a baby when their ears are hurting, they can't get down and crawl around and they are confined to a seat. I wanted to cry too.
