I have made a startling discovery. If you go to the Public Library in the late afternoon, all of the good books are checked out. Our usual routine is to go in the AM. That's when we find all the books that interest us. We went today , much later, and
there was slim pickins. I think we are an early to library , early to bed with a good book ,community. I was also thinking, while I was browsing around the library stacks, that we use to have a library card, that went right into that pocket on the inside cover
of the book. A sign that you were an actual, really important person, for our four kids, was when you could write your full name and get your own card. We have a lot of letters to put on a short line on the application. It took some practice. That was cause
for celebration. That card was very special. There was a time when we had library cards in several states. Our community , where we had a cottage, had a system where you only signed your name. Every year when we went back for the summer,we could see if we had
checked the book out before and who else had taken it out. Now we are happy with one card. Bob even had library privileges at Northwestern. That was special . Public Libraries are the best. I'll read to that.
