ON THE BACK BURNER

Oct.13 I happened to be out earlier than usual this morning and looking at the sky was almost a spiritual experience. There were so many stars. I can only identify a few, but the sight of all of those stars and constellations was noteworthy for me. So many, so bright. Do the stars see us. Is anyone there. How did early explorers use the stars to navigate. How smart of them. As a kid, I remember lying on the grass at night looking at the sky. I saw a lot of shooting stars. I don't think I've seen any of those in decades. Literally, decades. They must still be there, but maybe I'm not. Once I saw a meteor shower, while we were driving at night ,in Michigan . That was exciting. I've seen beautiful sun rises and beautiful sunsets and wonderful star formations. I've even seen the trail of a rocket ship and those vapor trails left by planes. I've experienced draught, high fire alerts, dust storm, snow storms, hurricanes, threat of tornadoes, extreme heat, bitter cold and the amazing thing is that the sun and moon come up and set every day, no matter what and I get to be here and see it all.. Awesome.
