Cricket is an only child again. We had a doggie visitor for several days and although the visitor was well behaved, even perfect, Cricket had that pinched doggie face she gets when the world doesn't stop for her. It is interesting how quickly dogs pick
up on us humans. I was busy and not reacting to our visitors demands of "let me out". So , she went to Bob and stood in front of him, complaining about me. I got the message and we did go out. In time. Even funnier for me is that the visitor , who is a medium
sized dog, always went to sleep in the smallest of our two doggie beds. Cricket is 10 lbs and has a very small bed. Our visitor is about 30 lbs and should have gone to our larger bed that we have for Lucky, Cricket's other friend. I noticed that one night,
Cricket went to bed first. She wanted that little bed. Jealousy, even in a dog. We had two dogs for many years. Now I can't remember how this happened. No one followed me home. I must have thought that it was a good idea to rescue another dog. My theory was
that each time a kid left home, I got a dog to replace the child. Sorry guys, but the dogs did promise not to grow up and leave home.
