ON THE BACK BURNER

September 21

In my old Blog, "It's Never Too Late", I wrote about knitting being like life. There is a smooth side , the knit stitches and a bumpy side, the purl stitches. And I wrote that this is what life is like. Sometimes smooth and often , bumpy. Now that I have ripped about 10 inches of my knitting  because I didn't like that I made a mistake way back in the beginning, I will add this to comparing knitting to life. Once you rip, you lose what you did. It's gone. Same in life. Take away what you did, and you are not the same person. Start the project again and that is like life. Make a new better you. It's not reinvention, it's just a better you. You look out for the place that you made the mistake in your knitting project.  Pay attention so it doesn't happen again. Learn to check your gage, to check for mistakes early . In life, beware of old habits that held you back. This is why I love to knit. Rip, redo , like Life -be mindful and go forward.
