ON THE BACK BURNER

I had date night tonight. On a whim, we went to the movies and had dinner out. It felt good. I wanted to see "A Walk in the Woods", because Bob ,and our son, walked a small portion of the Appellation Trail, years ago. As I watched the film, I was reminded of the hikes I use to take in the Rocky Mountain National Park. I carried a day pack with a pb and j sandwich on soft white bread. By the time we got to a lunch break,my sandwich was heated from the sun and smashed from my back pack. At that moment, it was the best sandwich in the universe. Followed by semi warm water in a plastic canteen and nothing was better. Some of the paths in the movie looked familiar, even though I have never seen the Appellation Trail. I am thinking that if you have seen one trail, you can get the idea of all trails. The last hike I took was up the snake trail at Masada. I could have taken the tram, but I was showing off. That's why I am telling this to you now. Show off.
