Living in the Chicago area, professional sports were very important. You even identified yourself by supporting the Cubs or the White Sox. Cubs were the north side and the Soxs were the south side. Like oil and water, you don't mix. It is customary
for Senior Ditch Day to correspond to opening day for the Cubs. Foot ball was generic. The whole city loves da Bears. We hate the GreenBay Packers. Period. The Bulls , are like the Bears. Universal followers in Chicago, no geographic boundaries. Soccer and
Hockey were just getting their supporters when we moved so I am not a follower of either. But now, here in the south, I am not as tuned into sports. I feel disloyal to the Chicago teams. I am not too interested in the Florida teams. Maybe the sun has gone
to my brain, but I find myself falling asleep when I watch the local professional teams. Maybe I'll get more excited when the weather cools off. Maybe not.
