ON THE BACK BURNER

I hear that Dr. Seuss has a new book coming out. He'd like that, I bet. I can't wait to get it. I can still quote the text from a majority of his books. I can see Grandparents and old baby boomers buying the book for themselves. Forget the little ones. This will bring me back to the evenings when we read aloud to who ever was the youngest kid. We loved A.A.Milne. Not so much the Winnie the Poo books as we did the poems. Sometimes a line from one of the poems is still a perfect answer to a problem or a discussion. Another book that we had and which I think is politically incorrect now, is Little Black Sambo. The illustration and the size of the book was just right for bed time. We went on to Charlotte's Web and Trumpet of the Swan and Little House on the Prairie, but Dr.Seuss and A.A. Milne stand out. Those were the good old days. Maybe a new Dr. Suess is just what we need right now.
