Wonder Woman, I am reading, was a progressive feminist. She was modeled after women family members who were outspoken about women's rights, civil rights , and equal rights. In 1942 , when WW was first published, she was fighting evil, intolerance, fighting
for democracy, freedom, justice and equal rights. She organized boycotts, strikes and political rallies. No wonder she was a wonder woman. I am amazed that I am learning so much by reading a book about a comic strip character. I also learned about woman going
into the work force when the men were off to war. Like Rosy the Riveter. The women filled the men's role, working in factories, getting men's salaries. The men came back, the women were asked to leave so the men could have their jobs back and when the women
wanted to work, they then got lower salaries. No wonder Wonder Woman had a lot to say. Maybe that is what my Mother admired about her. WW had a voice, even if she was in a comic book. Maybe it was a voice that my Mother thought she didn't have. But I have
it.
