You know how it is said that you can't go home again ? That might be true and maybe you dont want to. Or shouldnt. Because a Grandson offered to take us on a road trip to New Orleans, my birth home, I bought a travel book
about the best places to eat and see there. I was given a reality lesson. Many of my favorite restaurants are not even mentioned. That hurts. Why else go to New Orleans if you can't eat at the places that are on my speed dial ? What happened to Felix's and
Acme Oyster Bar ? And Breakfast at Brennen's ? Brennen's is having family issues and may be already reopened. They do that a lot with that family. A lot of in fighting. maybe they will work it out before we actually take this trip. This family owns a number
of restaurants, including my absolute favorite Commander's. The family branch that owns this one is a little bit more stable. They are the first number on my speed dial. I make my dinner reservations there , first, then I make my plane reservations. They are
that special.
I looked up my street on a map in this N.O. book. It's there. It made me feel good to see it on the street map. Validated my youth. Check it out . Hurst Street.Between Nashville , St Charles
ave. and Audubon Park. Being recognized on that map made me feel good again. Maybe I can go home...I just have to follow the map.
