ON THE BACK BURNER

Are dog owners nicer than people who aren't. And I am including people who have had family pets, but no longer do. It's a close call. There is no dog walker that Cricket and I meet that doesn't at least smile and wave a poop bag at us. Some dogs are just not socialized and I understand this. Over the years, we have had our mix of rescue dogs, some happy, some to never to be happy. The dog we have now is just about perfect. She'll be a hard act to follow. I call her Ms. Congeniality. She could run for public office, and in some states, like Colorado be elected. I think they elected a cat as mayor of one mountain town. With dogs ,it's the luck of the draw. Same as with some people that I know. You have to make the same allowences for people as we do for our pets. Who knows. That difficult person may have had a tough  early life. You have to try and find something redeeming about a dog or a person who has been hurt. Not so easy.

The other day, a dog that I had just met, came over to me and lifted his leg on my jeans. What was this about. Did he mark me as his. Do I belong to him now. Will some other dog come and mark me now. Maybe this new dog was insecure and wanted me for his own. I dont think Bob would like this arrangement.

I had a dog that did that and also would throw up on my mother's leg, as she walked into the house, never failed
