ON THE BACK BURNER

I had to get my hair done. I am applying for a renewal for my Passport. The picture that I take today has to last 10 years. Oy Vey. I don't know how security will recognize my todays picture in 10 years. I cannot guarentee that my hair will be the same color  At least my eyes will still be blue and I can document that I was born in New Orleans,USA. I always feel apprehensive anyway when I pass through security. What if the bells and whistles go off and they take me into a closed , locked room. As it is, I have lived long enough that I don't need to take off my shoes when I go through security. That's a plus. I don't know if that is because they are afraid of the risk of us falling over when we we put on or take off our sneakers, or if we are no longer a threat to security. I don't want any special consideration, you know.

My passport has expired this week and although I have no plans to travel, it's fun to have a current one. I just renewed Bob's passport. I made him promise that he would last until the next renewal date, 2025. It was hard to learn to write 2000, now I am preparing documents that are dated 2025. This is true optimism.
