ON THE BACK BURNER

I am driving my car again and the absolute nicest thing , concerning the car, happened. The shop that I have been dealing with for almost 20 years, changed ownership. The original owner knew the routine. I call, I mail key to them, they pick up car, they do what has to be done, they bring car back. The new owner was a little mystified when I called from PT saying that the key was in the mail. Several phone calls latter, they said they would pick up the car, etc, etc. When I got back to Venice, the dirty, unmoved car was still in the carport. One phone call latter, they were taking the car to be serviced. This was Friday. Today is Wednesday and I just got the car back yesterday afternoon. But here is the nice thing that happened. After picking up the car, jumping it to get it to the shop, replacing the battery and doing whatever you do to a car that has been sitting for months, picking me and Dixie up to go pick up the car, there was  no charge. Even though I was only slightly inconvenienced, that was a very nice gesture and I appreciate it. Now with wheels, Dixie went to day care for a few hours and  I went to the grocery. I even got the car washed. What a productive day.
