ON THE BACK BURNER

I am waiting for the other shoe to drop. In this case, the wait is for rain. We have had weeks of good weather. It doesn't feel natural. I still keep the electric radiator on low over night. And wear a jacket and a hat on the first walk of the day, but after that, once the sun is up, it is a wonderful almost fall day. I am finished clipping those murderous  thorny vines. Since their thorns dig into my gardening gloves, I figured out how to cut them at their base, and then take the clippers ,like chop sticks ,and hold them like that until I drop them into the wheel barrel. I have a welt on my hand from those thorns . It must have some kind of a self protective allergen on those thorns because the welt looks like I was bitten. Doesn't hurt and I got very little sympathy. I have one more row to put the manure on and then my garden goes to seep for the winter. I finished up clearing what we would have liked to be another garden sitting area. I want to see how large a fruit tree we can get . Then I can welcome people to my tent and we can sit under the shade of our tree. That has a nice ring  to it.
