ON THE BACK BURNER

Here in PT, if you buy a lot and there is no street, sewer, etc to get to your lot, you are required to make a street... at your expense. And unfortunately, someone is doing that , two blocks away.  It's as if our quiet neighborhood has been discovered. It is a little gem, overlooked for years.  but as land becomes more precious and people find that we have one of the best views in town, there is a jump in interest. It's not a bad thing, as long as our street stays like it is ! Two blocks away , there has been a lot of heavy truck traffic. A sewer is going in, a road is going in and where there was a foot path, there is now a raw swath ,  big enough for a street and some lots. Dixie and I took a walk there over the week end. She didn't like it. With her visual handicap, walking was difficult. Also , much too dust for both of us. I saw some great rocks that I would love to have. My son said that it was legal for me to go and get them. I'm a little intimidated by the soft, dusty road. I'm afraid that my mini van will sink in that dirt. Maybe I can talk my son into getting them for me before they lay down the actual road. What  can I bribe him with. Maybe lunch every work day.  Oh wait. I do that already.
