Because this is the "Ever Green State", I am not sure that the yellow , dried and crushed leaves that I see on the ground are a harbinger of fall, or if the dry spell,
which is normal at this time of year for the area, is a making the leaves dry up, turn yellow and fall to the ground. I just counted 6 commas in this sentence. Maybe I need a semi colon someplace in my stream of unconsciousness. I stopped experiencing fall
in 2004 when we bought our place in Florida. I missed it for awhile. That is one thing we did hear often in Florida. People missed fall. I don't know how you distinguish fall in the NW .Maybe by the
fact that it starts to rain again.I haven't noticed any crisp days, with the scent of pine trees in the air. I did receive a flyer from the hardware store that had decorations for Christmas. Maybe that's how you can tell that fall is coming. Christmas can't
be far behind.
