I spent a lot of today trying out a new recipe for challah. I wanted a sweet ,raisin filled, circular challah for the new year. I think I found the right dough and now I need to find the right shape. My " crown" shape is a
little tipsy. The good news is that I made a good challah. The bad news is that I ate a lot of it. I had a funny encounter with a grandson. I realized when I was getting the ingredients together, that I needed more yeast. So ,I grabbed my purse and started
walking down my path to the car. A grandson was coming up the path to go into the studio to work remotely. We saw each other and I said that I was running to the store for yeast to make challah. He stopped short, looked confused and said"Is today Friday". I wish now that I had said yes. I had another grandson for dinner tonight. We had our entire veggie parts of the meal, all from the local farm. Cucumbers, carrots, eggplant, spinach, onions, red pepper, celery.I think
that this is what is known as eating seasonally. I just realized that. I hope I didn't spoil the concept by have Snicker bars for our dessert.
