ON THE BACK BURNER

Here is some more info on the 'Thing" festival that is here in PT. Tickets cost $300. each and it is family friendly. I would rather go to Disney with my Disney buddy, but people who are into this kind of music, are here in Port Townsend this week end. My son's brass band is not being paid, but agreed to play for 17 free tickets. Those tickets were better than cash for the group. PT has a few wineries and they often have events that the brass band is asked to play. That's more my style and I have gone along with my son and DiL to those. They serve wine and cheese, we sit in a beautiful setting at sun set and listen to the band. Much more civilized for my taste. And speaking of taste. I went to dinner with my eating buddy and decided to have a drink before dinner. I am a one glass of  wine gal .For some reason, I decided to order a Sazerac, a New Orleans favorite. I've never had one and have no desire to have another one. Rye whiskey and bitters. Someone must like the drink because it is famous in the French Quarter with tourist  to N.O. I think that I have to stick with one glass of wine or a Coke. That works just as well in PT.
