ON THE BACK BURNER

Yard sale day. If nothing else, I meet really nice people. There was this love of a dog at one sale . I was squatting to look at some books that were in a box so  he and ai were at the same level. He started kissing me . Dixie does not kiss. Very occasionally she will give me a nudge with her nose. I miss dog kisses. It turns out that this dog was trained to be a super service  dog by men in prison. I have seen a TV show about this training and rehabbing, but never thought what happens to the dog after that. They are put up for adoption at a great price. This dog had several " degrees" and he cost several thousands of dollars for his advanced training. In this case, the owner was a wounded warrior and a military organization helped with the payment. The owner was working to get the VA to help with veterinarian  expenses  . I learn so much talking to strangers at these sales. I bought a cookbook. My fridge was collecting water below the bottom shelf. It was long overdue for a defrosting and the temperature in the fridge rose to above 40. I had to empty the whole thing , bring the food to the studio fridge , back and forth, until I emptied it all. Now I really appreciate frostless fridges. What a mess. Of course, I went to Google to see how to defrost it. Hair dryer  and paper towels. I had the paper towels. Still a watery mess. My grandson brought me a box load of veggies from the farmers market . My plan is to make ratatouille or companata. I have to see what the difference is. I have everything for either. What a treat.
