We had a real treat this morning at Family Meal. My grandson was given a large amount of sour dough starter. He ended up making 35 bagels and 4 loaves of bread. I think that this morning , when he looked in his fridge, the
starter was beginning to take over the refrigerator . My son donated some wild salmon lox that he had in the freezer and I did the sides, like tomatoes, red onion and cream cheese. What's not to be happy about. The sun was shinning, the sky was blue and ,
for a change, it was warm. The only unfortunate thing was that my son and DiL had a visiting dog that they were sitting for a short time. That meant that guest dog got to come to brunch and Dixie got left behind a screen door. Dixie is not pet friendly . I
could probably retrain her, but I haven't taken the time or energy to do that. I just keep her away from other dogs by either crossing to the other side of the road, or picking her up. I excuse her by saying that she is a rescue dog who was never socialized.
Then I say that she is not friendly , but that I am. That excuses her and makes me not so guilty of being a lazy pet owner.
