ON THE BACK BURNER

I turned on my AC. I did it for Dixie. It may have gotten into the 80's mid day.I have a sweet retro green fan. But the motor is not made for continuous running. After I turned on the AC, I was a little concerned about what have been lurking in the motor.I can hear the pitter patter of little feet on my roof, so any small animal could have made a home in the motor housing. Everything seems to beOk and I don't smell anything, so all must be good. My son and I had lunch at what might be the highest point in PT. Fort Worden, which was a military base and the site  for the Richard Greer movie," An Officer and a Lady".  People forget that it was an active military base and remember that the movie was shot there. They have the slowest cafe in town, but the view is priceless. I made my Bubbe's pickles this morning. Now I have to find a cool dark resting place for them .When I would make pickles at our cottage in Michigan, by the time they were officially ready, the kids had eaten most of them. Some of the same kids are here  and I am wondering if I should tell them where I am letting them pickle. Their dill pickle scent will guide them.
